In the past decade, the interest in the art of Drag has surged, welcoming both young, fresh talents and seasoned, aspiring artists into the entertainment industry. Alongside this surge, venues beyond the weekly amateur contests have been on the lookout for entertainers who embody the essence of the "total package." When art intersects with business, a plethora of skills is necessary for success, skills that need to be cultivated and honed.
Although the name is Dragademics: The Drag Academy (TDA), we welcome all talent.
At our school, we don't aim to teach you how to do drag because, as we all know, art is subjective. Instead, we focus on enhancing the skills you already possess and nurturing those you need to thrive in the business. We strive to create a comfortable environment for all our students, offering both one-on-one and online classes to cater to your individual needs. Each student undergoes a personalized interview with our Dean of Students and Academy Founder, Martin Cooper, or Coco Montrese, to determine your educational interests and the best-suited classes to help you excel in your artform.
Our curriculum is designed to propel you forward in your new career, blending education with the inherent fun and enjoyment that comes with this form of entertainment. Whether you're looking to refine your hosting skills or discover performance hacks to develop your unique character, our school provides a comprehensive learning experience tailored to your goals. Additionally, guest professors with decades of experience, who are mentors to our founder, will impart invaluable business skills that will set you apart from your industry peers.
Embrace this opportunity to its fullest. Take classes at your own pace and within your budget constraints. We understand that each individual's journey is unique, and we're here to support you every step of the way.
If you're interested in our school and want to determine if it aligns with your needs for advancement, schedule a one-on-one Zoom interview with our president here via the form. Fill out the interview application, and take that first step towards acquiring a wealth of knowledge and tools that will empower you to become the ultimate entertainer everyone aspires to be.
